Countdown to "House Moving" Part 2

Cant believe that it's a mere 2 weeks from now b4 we move to our new home! Really excited & looking forward to it ^^

We thank God for his faithfulness & provision during our 2 month's interim stay here in Orchid Park Condo. Nice landlord/lady, friendly new tenant as well... & we'll definitely miss the "resort-styled" facilities here (aka the swimming pools & beautifully landscaped garden). What else? Ah...the food! We love the malay stall nearby at Khatib central, & the nice cozy cafe just a stone's throw away at the Community Club.

Not sure if this is true, but we assumed that lots of units at condominiums are probably rented out to expats, thus the high number of expats we see around us. Mostly mainland Chinese, Indians, Koreans & Filipinos. So, it has a nice "international" feel to this community ;)

Now that renovation at our new place has also started, we've got to start looking for furniture actively too. Well, mainly dining table, chairs, bed frame for our room & sofa set. All along I've always wanted white wooden furniture for the bedroom, but starting to think twice now... as I'm not sure if it'll look too "feminine" for a master bedroom, hehe...

Another close favourite will be dark wood, but will it look too imposing? The bedroom is small :( *sigh*...choices!!!

Then there's the dining table. I've spotted one that I liked, which was on 40% discount the last time we saw, but not sure if it's still around by now, hehe... & I'm hoping we can get a long bench to go with it, instead of chairs ;) I like to imagine that this dining table will also be a place where I'll be doing my work while the kids sit around drawing or doing their homework.... having casual chats/fellowship with friends over for a meal or cookies & tea, cell group? prayer...? Mmmm, this table's got a high calling! lol...

Cant wait now! Keep us in prayer over this "moving" & wish us the best ;)

Matching Set in Silhouette Polka

Here's our recently completed custom order of Mini Day Tote, 3Fold Make Up Kit Case & Long Accordian Purse, all in matching Silhouette Polka in Pink.

Personally, I'd prefer the matching fabric to be in dark brown (only), but... the customer who ordered these loves pink, & wanted pink trimmings. So here they are ^^

Retro & candies mixed together! Love 'em :D

It's been 1 month already!

How time flies! It's been 1 month since we moved, & it'll just be another month b4 we move again!

Entering the foot path that'll lead us to the apartment where we're staying.

Not the swimming pool, but a landscaped garden area, with "river" or "lagoon" as they call it, running thru the entire length of the footpath.
Personally I thought it'd be nice if they made it look more natural, with stones, rocks, & fishes swimming etc. But then, maintenance will probably be higher too, hehe...ah, and the "floor" of the water area not to be light blue. This made it look like part of the swimming pool, instead of a "river/lagoon"
The "waterfall" is a nice attempt at creating a more holiday/resort-y atmosphere. At the far left is the BBQ area, with a "private" pool. So families or friends gathered for a BBQ party, can enjoy the pool, separate from the other crowd.
The playground, which is literally at the foot of our apartment. Somehow, the kids never played there, cus it's "sandy"... & initially we thought that they can wash off, & go for a swim after that. But we never got around to doing it...always heading to the pool right away! hehe...
The view from the balcony of the apartment that we're staying in.
The huge swimming pool across. I tried to zoom in as close as possible, but this is the best I manage. It's just 1m deep throughout, with the middle part of the pool at 1.5m. So, children & adults alike love to swim there. The baby pool is on the right side, hidden by the trees.
Lower Seletar Reservoir is just across the road, beyond the trees! We're really that near ;)

Thank God for his faithfulness & provision, we've been comfortable & well settled so far. We swam few times a week, simply enjoying the convenience of having a swimming pool in the compound. This is really good especially when we feel too lazy to go out, yet this simple pleasure is enough to keep the kids happy daily ^^

Though I'm allowed to cook, however I always kept it to a minimal & a really simple fare (never been one to cook up a storm anyways...haha). We eat out at the nearby coffeeshops & cafe when we feel like it, else just something simple for lunch & dinner.

Our whole family has been healthy, & Hans continued school as usual with the same school bus fetching & sending him daily. While Natalie & I continued to enjoy our morning walks to buy groceries & breakfast of roti prata, fried beehoon, lontong or nasi campur (malay mixed rice). I love the muslim stall there! Will definitely miss it after we move to Pasir Ris.

Tomorrow, will be our long awaited HDB 2nd appointment date, the handover of keys, & when the Pasir Ris flat will officially be under our names. Cant wait! ;)

Art for the Home

I came across Amy Giacomelli's paintings on Etsy one day, & cant help leaving my heart there. Love how the pieces are drawn with such life-likeness, artistically done.

They have a "tug-on-the-heart" effect that'll make you stop rushing about & realize that there's simple beauty in nature which we can enjoy if we take the time to stop, & look.

The above 3 are my top favourites from the shop. They also have very meaningful titles to it; Survivor, Looking Up, & Patiently Waiting.

Does it speak to your heart? It does to mine ;)

Survivor: "... we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." Romans 8:37

Looking Up:  "I lift up my eyes to the hills—where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth." Psalm 121:1-2

Patiently Waiting: "... be patient and stand firm, because the Lord's coming is near." James 5:8

Shopping for NEW Fabrics

To all my customers who are awaiting new fabrics, please be patient with me as:

1. I still have plenty of fabric in stock
2. I'm currently staying in a temporary place for 2 months
3. I'll be moving house on 14 November

Despite all these, my "fabric-shopping-itch" is back! lol... I'm starting to shop for new fabrics, & searching for the "older" ones which has proven popular. I'll try to bring these back:

- Yui Kokeshi
- Aviary series
- Chocolate Lollipops
- Brown Panda
- City Blooms
- Kyoto Series

Pls let me know if you'd like to see some other (old/new) designs. Be specific, & I'll get them for you! My "targeted" order date will be Mid Dec-Early Jan, depending on how fast the "flow" are with the present stock ;)

*** No guarantee, as they're subject to availability... but I'll try my best! ^^***
