Through MAMAN collection, CLOUD 9 Fabrics celebrated their co-owner's beloved grandmother Anne-Marie-Bossaert who is of Belgian-French decent.

Her many talents include illustrating a charming & extensive array of images depicting infants, children, religious themes & fairy tales around the time of WW2 in Belgium & France.

I wasnt born yet during the WW2, but it's no wonder that these fabrics does evoke a sense of nursery rhymes idyllic charm & retro beauty that belies the "undercurrent" turmoil of fear & anxiety that people of that generation probably feels during that period of time.

At any time, we do need a touch of beauty to help us move on with life. This collection does lend it's old-world charm beauty to me.
